The Gallant Lady, once known as Valentine Leight General Store is a one- and two-story frame country store located at 4566 Main Street (Old State Road M M) in the town of House Springs, Missouri, about 25 miles southwest of St. Louis. Having a total frontage of approximately 88 feet along Main Street with a depth of 40 feet, the weather boarded building (painted green) was constructed in three stages between circa 1894 and 1910. For its significant importance as a mercantile center for the area and late Victorian style it was listed on the National Register of Historical Places in 1992.
